In autumn of 2018, the ICHR-CAS club embarked on a trip to explore and find ancestry of "pi" in China. The famous Chinese mathematician Zuchongzhi was known to have calculated pi accurate to tens of decimals, an inspiring achievement to people thousand years ago. And through some investigation we found a significant correlation between music and pi: many instruments (e.g. brass/bronze cymbals, flutes) used by local musicians rely on this number to tune the harmonic frequencies of instruments. Afterwards, we took a step further and created new music: a music composition based on the digits of pi, with generous help from the music inheritors. Those people are highly talented in music and inherently curious to explore in practice. We sincerely appreciate your help, hope you can live well and continue being the protector of this ICH!
